Chairman of the Association of Private Colleges and Universities Visits

Beijing May 16, 2012. (BUU) Prof. Lien-Hsing Wu, Chairman of the Association of Private Colleges and Universities and Chairman of the Board of Chienkuo Technology University (CTU), with his delegation paid a visit to Beijing Union University (BUU).

 

Professor Xu Yongli, Chairman of University Council of BUU, Professor Fu Chenguang, Vice Chairman of University Council of BUU, Professor Zhang Nan, Vice Chairman of University Council of BUU, and Professor Huang Xiankai, Vice President of BUU, joined in the meeting.

 

Professor Xu Yongli extended his warmest welcome to Prof. Lien-Hsing Wu and his delegation of the Association of Private Colleges and Universities. “Since the relations across the Straits are getting closer, exchange and communication of higher institutions is getting more frequent, too.” he pointed out.

 

Professor Xu Yongli hopes the partnership and cooperation between CTU and BUU could enter a new phase so that more programs would benefit to faculty members and students. Besides, he wishes more Taiwan college students could come to Beijing and study at BUU so as to push forward the talents’ nurture across the Straits.

 

Prof. Lien-Hsing Wu expressed his gratitude for the gracious welcome from Professor Xu Yongli. He mentioned education should devote to the nation and we should nurture talents for the development of society. “Today, students are required to have professional skills and practical skills.” He added, “More programs in various fields should be expanded and conducted for our future excellent college graduates.”

 

During the meeting, both sides gave high credits to the academic symposium of Cross-strait Applied (Technical and Vocational) Higher Education, computer competition and other joint works.

 

Also attended was staff of General Administration Office, Division of Academic Affairs, College of International Education, Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, as well as relating divisions.
