On the morning of March 14th, Deputy Party Secretary of BUU Zhou Zhicheng met
with Professor Elżbieta Górska, Dean of Faculty of Philology, Professor
Władysław Witalisz, Dean of Studies, Professor Barbara Pikulska, Director of
Oriental Institute, and Professor Joanna Grzybek, Head of Department of Chinese
Language. Both sides held talks on a number of topics including language
teaching and teacher/student exchanges.
Extending a welcome to the Dean of Jagiellonian University, Zhou Zhicheng
briefed the guests on BUU’s origin, size, development orientation and mission in
words “high end, great momentum and top grade”. He expressed the hope to achieve
results of cooperation on teacher/student exchange and scientific research.
Professor Elżbieta Górska expressed gratitude to Zhou Zhicheng for his
hospitality and gave a brief presentation of the Jagiellonian University. He
hoped that BUU would send excellent Chinese teachers to the Jagiellonian
University to teach Chinese, dispatch English and Chinese majors to Jagiellonian
University to join in an exchange program, and let them practice at the
Department of Chinese Language, Jagiellonian University.
After the meeting, Zhou Zhicheng signed an exchange agreement with the Dean
of Jagiellonian University. Professor Yang Peng, Assistant to the President,
gave a brief introduction of the College of International Education to the
representatives of Jagiellonian University, then showed the guests around the
international student dorm building, and invited students at the Department of
Chinese Language of Jagiellonian University to BUU this summer.
Relevant persons in charge of the Division of International Exchange and
Cooperation, School League Committee, Management College, and College of Arts
attended the meeting.
