On the morning of June 30, Lu Zhenyang, President of Beijing Union University (BUU) was interviewed by a reporter from ICEX. He introduced the general situation of BUU, as well as its progress and breakthrough in international exchanges in recent years.

In the interview, Lu Zhenyang stressed that Spanish is the native language of over 30 countries, as well as the third most spoken language in the world apart from Chinese and English. Nearly 500 million people in the world speak Spanish. With the rise of China's voice in the world economy, China's trade contact with Spain and Latin America has become increasingly close. Learning and mastering Spanish is of great help to future employment and development. He also welcomed more Spanish students to BUU to learn professional knowledge and experience Chinese culture, thereby building a bridge of friendship between the two countries.

BUU has established cooperative relations with seven Spanish universities: University of Zaragoza, Public University of Navarre, University of Alcala, University of Lleida, University of La Rioja, Complutense University of Madrid and Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as seven universities in Latin America, including five campuses of La Salle University (Mexico), ORT University (Uruguay) and University of San Martin de Porres (Peru).

Over the past five years, BUU has sent 124 students abroad for Spanish programs, including 93 students to Spain. The number of students sent abroad has increased year by year.
